Every Family Deserves a Healthy Start
Why Your Gift Matters
Some people are going through pregnancy and bringing a baby home without the support they need. No one to answer questions. No one to help them prepare. No one there when it matters most.
The MaIH Center, owned and operated by Altruism, Inc., provides doula support, maternal education, access to a midwife, connections to community resources with help from a community health worker, and essential baby supplies — including a monthly distribution of free diapers — to pregnant families in Lexington and throughout the Kansas City area.
Through this work, and through partnerships that extend our reach, more families have someone they can rely on and access to the care and resources they need.
Your gift helps make sure that support is there when it is needed most.

Why This Work Matters in Missouri
In Missouri, access to maternal care is not consistent. Some communities no longer have nearby labor and delivery services. Others face distance, cost, or gaps in ongoing support.
Even when care is available, support is not always there. Appointments are brief. Questions go unanswered. Not everyone feels heard.
That gap is where Altruism, Inc. steps in.
Through The MaIH Center, Altruism provides doula support, education, and essential supplies so people have someone they can rely on.
Your gift helps make sure that support is there when it is needed most.
